Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Spatial AI Labs ("we", "us") does with information when you use Spatial Video Studio on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro, and the cloud service the app connects to. The short version: your media stays on your device unless you choose cloud conversion; cloud files are kept only long enough to convert and deliver them; and we collect a modest amount of usage data, tied to a pseudonymous ID, to keep the app working and improve it.
1. Your photos and videos
On-device conversion. The app reads the photos and videos you choose from your library or from files, converts them on the device and saves the results to the app's own storage and, when you ask, to your photo library. Nothing leaves your device. We cannot see your media.
Cloud conversion. If you choose to convert in the cloud, the file you selected is uploaded over an encrypted connection to storage we control on Google Cloud, converted on GPU servers we rent from Modal Labs, and the result is stored so you can download it. We use these files only to run the conversion you asked for. Nobody reviews them, they are not used to train models, and they are not shared with anyone except the infrastructure providers named here, who process them on our behalf.
How long cloud files are kept. Download links work for 24 hours after a conversion completes. The uploaded file and the result stay in our storage after that, but a fixed deletion rule on the storage bucket removes every object 90 days after it was written, whether or not the conversion ran. Nothing is kept beyond that, and there is no backup copy of your media. Conversion records (identifiers, timings, sizes, price, status) are kept for billing and support; the media itself is not.
Device permissions. The app asks for read access to your photo library to import media, and for "add only" access to save results there. On devices with a camera it can also capture new photos and videos if you choose to. You can change these permissions in system settings at any time.
2. Your account
You can use on-device conversion without an account; the app then uses an anonymous identifier issued by Firebase Authentication (a Google service) to hold your settings and purchases together. Cloud conversion and the feature-request board require signing in with Sign in with Apple. We receive the identifier Apple gives us and, only if you choose to share it, your name and email address. We do not receive your Apple ID password. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email" option, we receive the relay address instead of your real one.
3. Payments
App Store purchases. The Pro subscription is sold through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and we never receive your card details. We use RevenueCat to check which purchases are active for your account; it receives your app user ID and Apple's purchase receipts.
Cloud conversion. Cloud conversion is billed by us through Stripe. When you add a card, your card details go directly from the app to Stripe; we store only Stripe's reference to your card, the card brand and last four digits, and the record of what was charged. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the card data it holds.
4. Usage data and diagnostics
We collect information about how the app is used so we can fix problems and decide what to build. This includes which screens are opened and buttons tapped, how many projects, photos and videos are converted and by which method, the settings chosen, app version, device model and operating system version, language, and crash reports. This data is tied to your app user ID (the anonymous or signed-in identifier above), not to your name, and it never includes your photos or videos.
We use these providers to collect and process it, each under an agreement that limits them to acting on our instructions:
- Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (Google) for usage events and crash reports.
- Mixpanel for usage analytics.
- RevenueCat for purchase analytics.
We do not sell this data and do not use it for advertising or share it with advertisers.
5. Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app can tell you when a cloud conversion finishes. We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver them, which requires a device push token. You can turn notifications off in system settings.
6. Feature requests
Requests and votes you post on the in-app feature-request board are stored in Firebase (Google) together with your app user ID, and requests are visible to other users under the name you enter. Do not include personal information in a request.
7. Where data is processed
Our cloud storage and servers are in the United States (Google Cloud, us-central1), and our other providers process data primarily in the United States. Where data is transferred out of the country you live in, we rely on our providers' standard contractual safeguards.
8. Your rights and choices
- Delete everything. The app's Help screen has a "Delete account" option. It removes your projects and media from the device, deletes your sign-in record and marks your data for deletion with our providers. Billing records that we are legally required to keep are retained for the period the law requires.
- Leave the cloud. Choose "This device" as the conversion method and no media is uploaded.
- Access or correct. Email us to ask what data we hold about you, to correct it or to have it deleted. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing, to receive a copy of your data in a portable form, and to complain to a data-protection authority.
- Analytics. You can stop crash reports from being shared through your device's analytics settings, and Apple's "Allow apps to request to track" setting is not needed because we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy in a way that matters, the app will show you the updated version and ask you to accept it before continuing. The date at the bottom tells you when it was last revised.
